The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2026 exam date. The 21st edition of CTET will be conducted on 8th February 2026.
CBSE has stated that the detailed information bulletin regarding the exam will soon be available on the official CTET website, ctet.nic.in. Candidates preparing for the exam are advised to regularly check the website for updates on registration dates, exam cities, and other important instructions.

What is the CTET Exam?
The CTET exam is a mandatory eligibility test for candidates aspiring to become teachers in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS), and other CBSE-affiliated schools. The exam will be held across 132 cities in India, and candidates can choose to take the test in any of the 20 available languages.
CTET 2026 Exam Pattern
CTET consists of two papers:
- Paper I: For candidates aspiring to teach classes 1 to 5. This paper will be conducted in the afternoon shift from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
- Paper II: For candidates aspiring to teach classes 6 to 8. This paper will be conducted in the morning shift from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
Both papers include 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) each. Notably, there is no negative marking in the CTET exam.
CTET February 2026 Registration Details
According to previous trends, CTET registrations usually start 2–3 months before the exam. With the exam scheduled for 8th February 2026, the registration window is expected to open soon.
