Responsibilities for Apprentice – Purchasing Associate

As an Apprentice – Purchasing Associate at Oceaneering, you will support the Supply Chain Management (SCM) and purchasing functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate MIS (Management Information System) reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

• Understand and follow SCM processes as per company guidelines.

• Ensure assigned work is delivered with the required quality and within timelines.

• Follow checklists for incoming shipments to business units based on invoices.

• Manage Purchase Orders (POs) and MSRs – including generation, confirmation, expediting, and communication with end users.

• Analyze stock levels and raise inter-unit stock transfer orders (MSR) to other business units using overstock data.

• Maintain trackers for finalized Purchase Orders.

• Perform receipt against POs to ensure accurate expedite reports and resolve match exceptions.

• Resolve invoice and requisition anomalies.

• Maintain proper data and records, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s in Science / Commerce / PGDCA / BCA / B.Tech or another relevant field.

Desired Skills

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel and Word.

• Understanding of Purchasing, Inventory, and SCM (Supply Chain Management) functions.

• Excel skills including formulas and functions like Pivot Table, Pivot Chart, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, etc.
