Position: Automation Application Engineer
Reports To: Automation Engineering Manager
Location: Pune, India (Onsite)

Role Overview
In this role, you will serve as a design authority for engineering projects of low to medium complexity. You’ll work on application development and support tasks across machines, integrating systems (PLC, HMI, VFD, motion controllers) for OEMs. The position involves direct customer interaction, technical support, project delivery from specification through FAT/SAT, and periodic upgrades/training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement industrial automation solutions (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motion controllers).

  • Handle application development and support for OEM machines.

  • Interface with sales, customers, and teams to deliver technical presentations and explain benefits of B&R solutions.

  • Follow coding standards and manage the full project lifecycle: specification → development → FAT/SAT → closure.

  • Support incremental modifications to deployed machines, troubleshoot breakdowns, debug and diagnose.

  • Provide training to customers on systems and modules.

  • Escalate and report issues, maintain communication and documentation (meeting minutes, progress reports).

  • Plan for self technical upskilling in consultation with manager.

  • Encourage team and organizational culture alignment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechatronics Engineering.

  • 0 to 4 years of experience in industrial automation, preferably in multinational / Indian manufacturing environments.

  • Solid understanding of PLCs, HMIs, motors, drives, motion controllers.

  • Exposure to robotics is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Industrial IoT / automation trends is preferred.

  • Ability to work cross-culturally and across hierarchies.

  • Excellent verbal/written English and Hindi communication. Local languages a plus.

  • Flexibility to travel (up to ~60%).

Salary Range :

₹4,50,000 to ₹9,00,000 per annum (CTC)
