About Us
Qualcomm’s Software Analytics & Global Automation (SAGA) team (within Products & Tools) builds scalable test and automation infrastructure to support engineering workflows across Qualcomm. We partner closely with internal development teams to deliver high-quality, reliable tools and services.
Role Overview
As a Staff QA Engineer on the SAGA team, you will:

Lead the design, implementation, and execution of test plans for SAGA tools and frameworks

Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to identify, debug, and resolve defects
-
Automate testing pipelines and continuously improve coverage, performance, and quality
-
Monitor test metrics, drive test reporting, and mentor junior QA engineers
-
Work hands-on in testing and automation, while providing leadership in QA strategy and processes
Key Responsibilities
-
Define test strategy, test plans, and acceptance criteria for complex features
-
Perform and automate UI, performance, load, scalability, compatibility, and usability testing
-
Write automation scripts using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent
-
Engage in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and continuous integration / continuous testing practices
-
Troubleshoot and debug complex systems independently
-
Lead and mentor QA engineers; monitor team metrics, maintain test dashboards
-
Participate in Scrum / Agile ceremonies; collaborate directly with product and engineering
-
Optionally, work on embedded software, Linux / Android / QNX platforms, and cloud (AWS / Azure / GCP)
Minimum Qualifications
-
BE / BTech / MS / MTech in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
-
10+ years in systems / product test engineering or equivalent experience
-
Proven track record of leading QA teams, reporting metrics, and owning test strategy
-
Strong experience in test planning and execution of complex systems
-
Deep expertise in automation (Selenium, Playwright, or other frameworks) and scripting (Python or similar)

Proficiency in UI, load, performance, backward compatibility, and usability testing

Excellent debugging and problem solving skills

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Hands-on individual contributor capabilities along with leadership responsibilities

Experience with Scrum / Agile methodology
Preferred / Additional Skills
-
Prior experience in embedded software or OS (Linux, Android, QNX)

Experience configuring / managing embedded systems environments
-
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated services

Salary Range
Based on public salary data for Qualcomm and similar roles:

Average staff QA / test engineers at Qualcomm India: ~ ₹21.8 lakhs p.a.
-
Qualcomm Staff Engineer salaries in India: average ~ ₹20.7 lakhs p.a.
-
Test / Quality Assurance engineers at Qualcomm: ~ ₹20 – 30 lakhs+ p.a.
Therefore, a reasonable salary band for this position would be:
₹18,00,000 – ₹30,00,000 per annum (depending on experience, skill set, stock / bonuses)
