Job Description

Position: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Hyderabad

Role Overview

You will design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and architectures to support analytics and operational needs. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to integrate large-scale data from multiple sources, ensure quality and performance, and enable timely data delivery for business insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Python for data ingestion, transformations, and integrations

• Implement workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow (or similar)

• Work extensively with Snowflake (or equivalent cloud data warehouse) to model and optimize schemas & queries

• Use messaging / queueing systems like Kafka, AWS SQS (or similar) for real-time or batch processing

• Collaborate with Data Science, Product & Engineering teams to meet data needs aligned with business goals

• Optimize pipeline and query performance for large-scale datasets

• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are met

• Create and maintain documentation around data infrastructure, pipelines, and processes

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in data engineering or similar roles, handling large-scale data solutions

• Strong proficiency in Python for ETL, scripting, data wrangling

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake or equivalent cloud DW

• Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow or similar)

• Knowledge of queue/messaging systems (Kafka, SQS, etc.)

• Expertise in data modeling, warehousing, and database design

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)

• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows for data engineering

• Prior experience in Agile / cross-functional environments

Preferred / Add-on Skills

• Exposure to Scala or Java for data tasks

• Containerization / orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Experience with streaming / real-time frameworks (e.g. Flink)

• Working with data lake tech such as Apache Iceberg

• Understanding how ML systems integrate with data pipelines

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills

• Clear verbal & written communication

• Collaborative approach and ability to manage ambiguity
